The Effectiveness of Using Meta-cognitive K-W-L -Plus strategy on
Developing Creative Thinking and Information Processing Skills in
Mathematics for Third Intermediate Graders.
Abstract:
This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of using Metacognitive
K-W-L-Plus Strategy on developing creative thinking and
information processing skills in mathematics among Third Intermediate
Graders. The study has been applied on two groups, one experimental,
which has (33) students and the other is controlled which has (33) students.
The researcher prepared study materials and activity book for the student
and teacher's guide in order to activate K-W-L-Plus-Strategy in teaching
analysis of linear functions unit. The researcher prepared study tools, which
contains creative thinking test, and information processing skills test in
math. The results of the study showed a statistically significant differences
at the level of (0.01) for the experimental group in creative thinking skills,
fluency, flexibility, and originality. The elaboration and size of impact was
high. The results of the study also showed a statistically significant
differences at the level of (0.01) for the experimental group in information
processing in mathematics , in summary , understanding relationships and
patterns, and assessing information with high scale impact. The study, also,
showed a positive relationship and a statistical function at a level (0.01)
between creative thinking and processing information.
